Advantages of Memory Foam Pillows

There is nothing worse than waking up with a sore and stiff neck that plagues you all day. Your sleep is disrupted trying to find a comfortable position to support your neck. Substandard pillows can cause headaches, stiff necks, interrupted sleep and other physical conditions. There are many advantages to sleeping on a memory foam pillow. Snoring is decreased because the better alignment of the spine means a better alignment of breathing passages. The pillow completes the alignment of the spine. It reduces stress and pressure on the neck by supporting the neck properly. If you have allergies or other sensitivities, a hypo-allergenic memory foam pillow will help alleviate your symptoms. The pillows are also resistant to dust mites! When purchasing a memory foam pillow you need to choose the density. Most memory foam pillows give you the best support if you sleep on your back, but there are other pillows designed for the side and stomach sleepers. Densities generally range from 3 - 5 lbs. A density in the middle will probably give you the best results. You want a pillow that is too soft, but not too hard either. Memory foam pillows come in a range of sizes and shapes. Prices vary, but memory foam pillows are more expensive than regular pillow.

If you are looking for a great nights sleep, a memory foam pillow might be the way to go!

Duvet Covers

"What is a Duvet Cover?"

The duvet cover is used in Europe as often as Americans use a comforter. A duvet cover is a decorative cover for your comforter. The duvet does the same thing a pillowcase does on a pillow. It protects the comforter from getting worn, old and dirty.

When buying a duvet set always pay close attention to the measurements of both the duvet and the comforter. It is best to purchase the duvet cover with the same measurements of the comforter or 2-3 inches larger than the comforter. Buying a duvet too small for the comforter will make the bedding look very bulky. If the duvet is too big the comforter will shift around like fish in water.

Duvet bedding is so much easier to clean than comforters. You save a lot more money cleaning duvet covers than a comforter set.

I recommend everyone try a duvet cover. I think you will fall in love with it!

Egyptian Cotton

What is Egyptian cotton?

Egyptian cotton bed sheets have been a sign of luxury and pampering for years. In advertising  any of these products made of Egyptian cotton, and you will find claims of softness, luxuriousness, and high quality.

Egyptian cotton comes from where its name suggests – Egypt. The humid conditions and rich soil in Egypt along the Nile River Valley create the perfect conditions to grow long cotton fibers (also known as staples), and Egyptian cotton falls under the classification of an ELS (extra-long staple) cotton. These yarns are soft and lustrous yet are very strong and durable.

Another property of Egyptian cotton that makes it high quality is its ability to absorb liquid. This ability allows it to soak in dyes that give the final product very vibrant color that lasts longer than some other cotton products.

The next thing to look for is thread count. Thread count is simply how many threads of cotton are woven lengthwise and widthwise into an inch of fabric. A good quality thread count of any cotton usually starts at about 200. Since Egyptian cotton is softer and more durable than others, a 200 count sheet set made of Egyptian cotton will be of better quality than a 200 count sheet set made from many other types of cotton. The Egyptian cotton sheets should be softer and more comfortable. They will also most likely be more expensive. As the thread count gets higher the quality of the fabric also rises.

Egyptian cotton is used to make a variety of high quality, durable products. which include comforters, duvet covers, children's bedding as well as sheets and pillowcases. If you are looking to add a little luxury to your cotton products, perhaps Egyptian cotton is the way to go!
